Terms of service

Stand-by Tours is operated by LG Project Pond Ventures Ltd. (registration HE441622, VAT CY10441622A), a company registered in the Republic of Cyprus and registered at 5 Griva Digeni Street, Klavdia, Larnaca, 7576, Cyprus — trading as "Stand-by Tours" ("we," "us," "our," "SBT"). The same legal entity also trades as "LGA Cyprus Taste Tours."

Stand-by Tours is a disclosed booking agent, not the operator of the tours and activities listed on the Platform. Every tour, activity, or experience ("Experience") listed on standbytours.com is independently owned and operated by a third-party tour operator or activity provider (each, an "Operator" or "Supplier") who has registered with us and agreed to our supplier terms.

When you make a booking through the Platform, you enter into a direct contract for the Experience itself with the Operator — not with Stand-by Tours. Our role is limited to: marketing the Operator's available capacity, facilitating your reservation, and collecting payment from you and remitting it to the Operator (less our commission), on the Operator's behalf. We do not organize, guide, transport, feed, insure, or otherwise deliver any part of the Experience itself.

The Operator remains responsible for: actually operating and delivering the Experience; holding all licenses, permits, and insurance required by law to do so; the accuracy of the Experience's description, inclusions, and any age, fitness, or health requirements; and its own health and safety practices during the Experience.

The identity of the Operator responsible for your specific Experience is made available to you as part of the booking process and your booking confirmation.

Because we act as a disclosed agent collecting payment on the Operator's behalf, any receipt or payment confirmation you receive from us reflects a payment collected for the Operator's Experience, not a sale of that Experience by Stand-by Tours itself.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or make a booking on the Platform. Guest checkout is available for bookings without an account, but the person completing checkout must still be at least 18.

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity that happens under your account. Let us know immediately at support@standbytours.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

Suppliers go through a separate review and onboarding process, and are additionally bound by our Supplier Agreement — see Section 9 below.

Stand-by pricing reflects an Operator's genuinely unsold capacity, released close to the Experience's departure time — sometimes as little as one hour in advance. Because inventory changes in real time, availability and price at the moment you view a listing aren't guaranteed until your payment is confirmed.

A booking is confirmed the moment your payment successfully processes — there's no separate confirmation step or waiting period. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we don't store your full card details.

Prices are shown in the currency you've selected for convenience. If that differs from the Operator's own pricing currency, the displayed amount includes a foreign-exchange conversion and a service margin to cover conversion costs — the amount you're charged is the amount confirmed to you at checkout.

Attempting to circumvent the stand-by model — for example, by booking a full-price ticket in order to cancel and rebook the same seat at a stand-by rate — is a breach of these Terms and may result in the immediate suspension of your account.

Stand-by bookings are non-refundable. This is a platform-wide policy that every Operator agrees to as a condition of listing on Stand-by Tours, and it's the trade-off that makes the deep, last-minute stand-by discount possible in the first place. Once a booking is confirmed, it cannot be cancelled, rescheduled, or refunded by you.

The one exception is if the Operator itself cancels your Experience — for example, due to weather, a safety issue, or not reaching a minimum number of bookings. In that case, you're entitled to a full refund of the amount you paid, processed back to your original payment method.

Because each Experience is operated independently by its own Operator, an Operator's own terms and conditions (available from the Operator or referenced in your booking confirmation) may include additional detail specific to that Experience — for example, what happens if you're late to the meeting point, or a change to the itinerary once underway. Where an Operator's own terms conflict with the platform-wide non-refundable policy stated here, the non-refundable policy set out in these Terms applies to your booking made through Stand-by Tours.

You agree to provide accurate, current information when booking — including for any other participants you're booking on behalf of — and to arrive on time and follow the Operator's reasonable instructions during the Experience.

You agree not to use the Platform for any unlawful purpose, to attempt to manipulate or game the stand-by release mechanism, to interfere with the Platform's operation, or to misuse another person's account.

The Platform is provided "as is." Because Stand-by Tours acts as a disclosed booking agent and does not itself deliver any Experience, we are not liable for the performance, quality, safety, or legality of any Experience, or for any act or omission of an Operator — responsibility for those rests with the Operator, in accordance with the marketplace model described in Section 3.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for issues arising from the booking or payment service we actually provide is limited to the amount you paid for the booking in question. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Cyprus or EU law, including for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, or for fraud.
